Mount Teide Night Tour

Note:

Children under 8 are cannot participate in the Mount Teide by night trip. Proof of age is required.
All our guides are astronomical guides certified by the Starlight Foundation.
It is necessary to produce the booking confirmation, either printed or displayed on a mobile device.
The tour starts once all participants are on the bus.
Pick up will be at the closest meeting point to your hotel.

Star gazing - disappointing

We were disappointed with our excursion. The coach was very old and quite uncomfortable, the driver was not good with very strange use of the brakes, and there was an excessive number of pick-ups from other points making the journey very long to and from the first stop. There was not a particularly good explanation of the trip, but this must be partly the fault of our hotel concierge. On the trip itself we were told that we would be stopping to see the sunset, but perhaps a little more guidance on where to go when the coach stopped would have been helpful. On arrival at the Teide we waited again while some people ate their food provided. We had not wanted a meal so assumed on choosing this trip that we would not be stopping for food. The use of the telescopes and the explanation by your guide was good. It must be very difficult to pitch the depth of detail for this experience to satisfy everyone, so while we felt that the detail was too great for us, we fully understand that the guide needs to cover for all levels, so that is fair. We had the great opportunity to have the telescopes repositioned to see a close-up of a (nearly?) full moon, and the detail through the scope was exceptional. Seeing the other stars before this was not quite so thrilling (for us). In fact, the unpolluted night sky at the location was enjoyable without the telescopes.
