This quiet village, yet well located along the popular tourist ribbon area of Chania, is only 4 km from the bustle of Platanias with its many shops and taverns away. The hills of Maleme offer quiet walks among the olive and orange groves and vineyards as well as the German Memorial and grave yard of the Second World War. Maleme is well situated with easy and quick access to the exotic blue beaches of Falasarna, Gramvousa, Balos and Elaffonissi with their crystal blue waters and pink sand. Chania the main town is 18 km away and boasts its charming Venetian Harbour, with its Neo Classical, Venetian and Turkish architecture, rich in culture and history. It is a pleasure to wander along the small cobbled pave streets with its museums, churches, souvenir shops and taverns. The long, beautiful beach is only 300 metres away.

From the airport, take the Souda Bay road, then the Highway to Kissamos. On the highway take the Platanias offramp. When you come to the old main road turn left and follow sign to Maleme.

The accommodation is spacious with either large verandas or small gardens, and is modern in design.
